Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Dinah spent the school year in the steely city and summers on thefamily island. Family life was a mix of adventure and simple living. Edge from the steel city,adventure and purity are what frame and influence her work today.Dinah studied Fashion Design in Toronto and began her four year career at Club Monaco asa Technical Designer. Exploring the industry, Dinah then approached the Senior Editor at theNational post and began writing for the style section. She was profiled in Toronto Life as an up andcomer in the city.In 1999 she took a risk by working in the promotional segment of the market for a privatelyowned retail company, YM Incorporated. There, she was the recipient of strong mentorship by theowner for over a decade. She provided bottom line growth at YM, demonstrated outstandingability to pivot and reassess potential category issues, anticipate growth opportunities, negotiateongoing offshore programs in China, Bangladesh as well as New York and Los Angeles. Absolutededication and willingness to learn and grow, accepting new challenges given to her on a regularbasis. During this time she was a buyer, designer and product developer. Ten years and thousandsof air miles later, as Ladies wear Division Merchandising Manager for Bluenotes, with 250 storesacross the nation, she took a year off with her first child.At home, Dinah set up a studio to build LUXTON, a brand focused on the category she wasmost passionate about, outerwear. The lack of refined, functional, edgy, warm sportswear in theouterwear market, suggested a void and possible entry point for LUXTON. Her concept beganwith an insulated pant and evolved from there into a one piece, an even lighter more streamlinedsilhouette for the day to day life of a city woman. Both pieces instantly shift the winter silhouettefrom top heavy classics to light, layered, functional, easy pieces with attitude.

Our wool/cashmere coats are made in Toronto.  Our down coats are made in small batch premium production facilities in China. Our cashmere accessories are made in Mongolia.  Please notify us if you Require further information.

Do you arrange for repairs?

Our standards for quality and workmanship are very high. We expect the best from our manufacturers and they partnerwith us at every stage of Quality Control.  In the event that one of our garments is damaged outside of the normalwear and tear they are exposed to, please email us with a description of the issue, along with a photo. Please shareyour name and phone number with us so that we can better assist you in finding the best repair service in your location. In the rare event that your garment arrives damaged, please notify us within 5 days of the date of delivery to request a replacement item.  Please include the items mentioned above.
Can I combine a sale item with my Gift with Purchase invitation?

During a gift event, one gift will be available per client. Gift events cannot be combined with other offers. Gifts are also not eligible for exchange, return or replacement.  Gift’s cannot be requested retroactively. Our return policy: Orders returned to Luxton which were eligible and participated in a gift with purchase eventMust be sure to return the gift as well.  In the event that the gift is not included in the return package, the value of the giftWill be deducted from the return amount. 
Do things sell out?

Yes. As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we run very limited quantities in each style. However, we stand behind our design, and will persist to push each style to it’s best form, in this case, It’s possible the garment you are seeking may be released the following season. Please subscribe to our newsletter so that we may keep you informed. 
Do you have seasonal sales?

Yes, we have two seasonal sales – during spring/summer and autumn/winter. Exact dates of these will be advertised near the time. Only selected styles will be available in the sale and, due to the exclusive nature of our ranges, we cannot guarantee that an item will still be available for purchase late in the season.
